That one word is a powerful thing. Most people hold a grudge for a short amount of time until their anger has simmered down or an apology has been received. It could be over something really trivial but on occasion it can be devastating. Some people hold grudges for years and it can tear families apart making things difficult for those caught in the middle of it. Some people vow to never speak to that person again and even take it to their grave. Life is so unpredictable and often short. Why do we waste our precious time on grudges? Years down the line we probably think to ourselves how stupid it seems now but can’t quite take that step to make amends or are just too stubborn to do so.

Have you ever held a grudge?

What was I thinking?

Have you ever walked into a room and forgotten what for? How about being in the middle of something and the door goes and you completely forget your earlier task and move onto something else. Or the classic thing for me is meaning to tell someone something and then completely forgetting what I wanted to say! I’ve done all of these on many occasions and it’s very frustrating. It happens with my writing too. I get an idea and think to myself I need to write it down before I forget and then get distracted and the whole thing goes poof and it can take several days before it returns to me. Why do we do this? You could put it down to age but my kids do it all the time, though usually they forget something after being reminded a thousand times and then remember it when I get to the car!

Anyone else suffer with memory slip? Have you got a funny story attached to it? If so drop it in the comment box 🙂 I’ve caught myself trying to put the butter in the cupboard instead of the fridge once but I think that’s just madness setting in 🙂

We all wish for something but what is the one event that would make you think it was all worth it? It could be moving to another country that you’ve always dreamed about or even the dream house you’ve pictured living in since a child. Maybe winning the lotto is the one for you. These are all good choices and are even part of my own but the one event that i would love to happen is to see the Twisted Bloodlines series made into a movie. i don’t kid myself that it is even a possibility but it is the one thing that i would love to see happen in my life 🙂

Here is an excerpt from the fourth book in the Twisted Bloodlines series, Temptations From The Past enjoy 🙂

I watch as Becky stands against the wall. Her hands still grasp the shredded remains of the blouse as if her life depended on it. Her body once again trembles violently as I near where she stands. Her earlier relaxed stance has completely vanished with my approach. I know that I must be a fearsome sight. My teeth have lengthened along with my claws. I can feel the muscles flexing across my face, distorting my appearance as the beast fights for its escape. The sight of her terrified expression both thrills and disgusts me but doesn’t deter me from my destination.

There are only a few inches left between us. Her breath hitches and I can see the fear shinning in those blue eyes. I extend my hand towards her, letting a lengthened claw trail across her cheek, descending further towards the swell of her breasts. The scent of her fear fills the air and her eyes widen further. I can tell she wants to speak by the tremble of her lips, no doubt wanting to warn me away. My advances are no longer welcome. But she is paralysed in terror of my intentions. However, Becky is unaware of the war raging inside me as I regard her. The sensible side of my personality is rapidly fighting a losing battle against the beast urging me on. And Becky is going to be its first meal.

Book series

A bit of shameless promotion here but this is my paranormal thriller series Twisted Bloodlines. It follows a group of people united by an enemy in common. Each book delves further into the characters lives, the suffering that they have endured and the love that they hadn’t banked on to encounter in these desperate times. It’s a battle to survive and protect the ones they cherish but will they buckle under the pressure? Dark times are coming and the madness is already creeping in. With a traitor among them who can they trust and who will win the fight for power?

There are six books in the series and four are already available for purchase right now. What are you waiting for 🙂

What did I do to deserve this?

Posted: April 22, 2015 in books

Do you ever say to yourself “what did I do that was so bad to deserve this?” I have. I could be having a run of bad luck (more often than not!) and think the exact same thing. I find myself thinking back through the years of what it could possibly be but it’s silly really. Is karma real? I know the word is thrown around all the time and most people believe in it. I’m not sure if I do. Could it be that some people are just luckier than others and suffering for them is just breaking a nail? I suppose it’s one of those things we will never know but personally I haven’t done anything bad enough in my life that would warrant constant gloom 🙂

dark house

What’s your worst nightmare?

For Ivy Jensen, it’s the eyes of a killer that haunt her nights. For Parker Bradley, it’s bloodthirsty sea serpents that slither in his dreams.

And for seven essay contestants, it’s their worst nightmares that win them an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at director Justin Blake’s latest, confidential project. Ivy doesn’t even like scary movies, but she’s ready to face her real-world fears. Parker’s sympathetic words and perfect smile help keep her spirits up. . . at least for now.

Not everyone is so charming, though. Horror-film fanatic Garth Vader wants to stir up trouble. It’s bad enough he has to stay in the middle of nowhere with this group—the girl who locks herself in her room; the know-it-all roommate; “Mister Sensitive”; and the one who’s too cheery for her own good. Someone has to make things interesting.

Except, things are already a little weird. The hostess is a serial-killer look-alike, the dream-stealing Nightmare Elf is lurking about, and the seventh member of the group is missing.

By the time Ivy and Parker realize what’s really at stake, it’s too late to wake up and run.

Having been a fan of Laurie Faria Stolarz Touch series I thought I’d give this one a try. As a fan of horror I was a little disappointed by the lack of it in this book. It started out with promise but sadly I found the action scenes too short and quite rushed especially at the end of the book. Told from each characters perspective we learn a little about each of them and their purpose in the story line but I personally felt that I needed more information. Having said that it did hold my interest and I know there is a sequel due to be released on July 21st since it had been left on a cliffhanger but I still feel she should have slowed the pace and given us a little more action. I fully intend to read the next installment to find out what happens. An enjoyable read although a little lacking in action which is why I’m giving it a four star rating.

Are you a good judge of character?

Posted: April 18, 2015 in books

I think we all like to think we are. Generally i’m usually right about a person. If I meet someone and hold a strong dislike to them I’ve found more often than not that they are either liars or users. Of course this only applies to actually meeting a person. I feel there’s no way you can judge a character from online conversations. They could be lying their arses off painting a wonderful picture of themselves and how would you know? I’ll leave those character judges to the likes of TV shows such as Catfish 🙂 But usually you can judge a person within a few hours of meeting them. I watch how they react to the surroundings or their facial expressions during conversations. Kids are almost always a good icebreaker and also a test of patience to the person meeting them. If they leap up cursing and getting angry then you can rest assure they are not very nice people to surround yourself with, well in my book anyway 🙂

I would like to learn carpentry. It’s an odd thing for a woman to want to do but it’s something I’ve always been keen to learn. I love DIY although not power tools i’ll leave those for the men 🙂 My dad is a good carpenter and he builds cabinets, wardrobes etc and they are so much stronger than what you buy in the stores. You can design them especially for your needs and to the size you want. My dad has and will make me what I want but i’d like to be able to do it myself. Maybe one day i’ll be able to pick up the skill 🙂

What building do you hate the most?

building 2

This could be somewhere like a church, maybe because the chill and silence makes you uneasy. Or even a museum where the wax figures freak you out or possibly a restaurant after a bad case of food poisoning. For me it is a pub. I detest the places! Nothing but trouble comes out of those places. There always seem to be arguments or fights breaking out over the stupidest things. Football matches are a typical reason for this. Everyone gathers to watch them and drink far too much. Most will disagree with me but there’s no denying at least one problem occurs in them every night. If i’m honest i would rather go through root canal than spend half an hour in a pub! How about you? What building do you hate?
