When I first moved into my house the garden was a mess. It had concrete slabs everywhere which were made into flowerbeds and a huge slab of concrete where a greenhouse used to be. The ground was half paved and the rest was mud. The concrete beds were removed and I paved over the mud but it still looked a mess and the huge concrete slab was a hazard to the little ones who kept tripping over it. I finally managed to get it removed and decided that I wanted decking and grass but soon regretted that decision. It took a year for partial decking to go down and once all the paving was removed the garden was a mud pile! We had to level the mud before grass could be laid and that in itself was a task. Having gotten it to a decent level the grass went down and it looked amazing. We watered it twice a day and didn’t let anyone walk on it for the required time and once it began to look like a forest out came the lawnmower. After it’s haircut it looked terrible! Patches of grass were yellow and seemed to have died and some of the joins had become much wider than when they were laid. What has gone wrong? We followed the instructions and before it was cut the grass looked healthy and green. We are going to try some grass feed to bring it back to life but gardening is hard work!
